Description
Spark your imagination as you explore 2363
entirely new, essential narrative situatons -- each suggesting
multiple story possibilities depending on what you project onto
them.
 Overviewstorybase v2.0 is a search
engine, browser and clipboard of 2,363 interlinked narrative situations, or
Conflicts.
You explore storybase by sorting the Conflicts
according to Characters, Mindset and Thrust.
Characters include
Protagonist, Antagonist, Friend/Lover, Family, and Object (X). Each Conflict is
from the point-of-view of Protagonist.
Mindset is an estimate of
the Protagonist's mental state. Thrust refers to movement or action.
Leadins are suggestions for what comes before a given Conflict.
Leadouts are suggestions for what comes after a given Conflict.
 Characters
Personalize storybase by
assigning the names of your characters to Protagonist, Antagonist and
Friend/Lover.
Explore story possibilities from another character's
point-of-view by rotating your names between Protagonist, Antagonist and
Friend/Lover.
Easily create Character Sets for each story you're
developing.
 Mindset
Search
for Conflicts according to the Mindset of your Protagonist.
Select up
to three Mindset values each time you sort the Conflicts.
 Thrust
Search
for Conflicts according to the Thrust of the story you're developing.
Select up to three Thrust values each time you sort the Conflicts.
 Conflicts
storybase displays the conflicts
that best match your choices for Characters, Mindset and Thrust.
Each
conflict may suggest multiple possibilities for your story.
You can
easily drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste your favorite Conflicts into the
built-in text editor or into your favorite word processor.

Conflicts by revising your choices of Characters and/or Mindset and/or Thrust.
 Leads
Each of
the Conflicts in storybase may be viewed in combination with its
suggested Leads.
As you explore the Leads for a particular
Conflict, you will discover many possible ways your story might proceed.
Create strings of related Conflicts and drag and drop or copy
and paste these strings directly into your document.
